Hotshot & Scorcher Social Club
July 2013

Hotshot & Scorcher Social Club is London International Ska ferstival's new monthly event. The idea behind Hotshot & Scorcher Social Club is to build on the wonderful spirit, atmosphere and friendships forged at London International Ska Festival by creating a series of bespoke monthly events.

Friday 26 July was the launch night at The Fallen Angel in Islington and saw DJ's Little Diane (Ace Cafe) and Mistah Brown (tighten Up) spin the finest Ska, Rocksteady, R&B and Soul tunes all night long.

Mistah Brown runs longstanding club night Tighten Up.

The event attracted a wide range of people all sharing their love for Ska, Soul, Rocksteady, Reggae and general great tunes!

Dennis Bovell, famed for championing Lovers Rock and Dub in the UK was also in attendence. He produced Janet Kay's 'Silly Games', Linton Kwesi Johnson, Marvin Gaye, The Slits, Madness, Fela Kuti amongst many others.
