biography / april 09

Fan Death (a duo comprised of Dandilion Wind Opaine and Marta Jaciubek-McKeever), provides sun soak roller disco tunes that reminisce of the late 70's era in an almost eerie sense of authenticity.

Named after a South Korean superstition concerning the fear that electric fans "if left running overnight in a closed room, can cause the death (by suffocation, poisoning, or hypothermia) of those inside", the lovely duo has just released their first single titled "Veronica's Veil". The single is packaged with an extended re-work by London based producer/dj/tastemaker, Erol Alkan, and drops courtesy of his label, Phantasy Sounds.

Dandi and Marta are unlike most electronic bands today; they are setting out to be the next Pet Shop Boys, Soft Cell or OMD. With tracks like Veronica's Veil, they've proved to set out in the right direction.
