Biography

June 11

YKNI is a Copenhagen- based collaboration between three (quite different) musicians.  Mikkel Knudsen, Michael Krogh Caspersen and Trine Lykke connected music wise, early in 2007. They are currently finishing their debut album, which will be released on Neh-Owh Records, this year.

It has been a working process with a lot of obstacles on the way.  In the end of 2008 the recordings were put on hold due to serious illness in the group. Late in 2009 the band did get back on track by playing a smaller concert, in a record store, in Copenhagen. At that point they rediscovered their common passion for making music; experimenting and improvising on instruments that they are not always that well acquainted to.

They blend experimental noise rock with catchy 80’s synth pop and  gothic elements. The audience is often charmed by their loose/ tumbling rythms and sounds, when the band unfold themselves live.
