Biography

June 11

The Lucid Dream return in May with their exciting new single ‘Love In My Veins’.  From the off, it displays guitar riffs soaked in psychedelic blues with pounding drum rolls and reverb drenched vocals. The track builds and picks up tempo with crashing cymbals and the introduction of an organ which carries the track along to a huge ending.

The B-side to this release ‘Devil Rides Out’ is a remix by Richard Norris of ‘I Got the Devil’. Norris, of The Grid, The Time and Space Machine and more recently one half of Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve with Erol Alkan, has also remixed the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Primal Scream and Doves.

The Lucid Dream formed in Carlisle, Cumbria in 2008. They first came to the attention of the public through a split 10” single released by Leeds based record label Dead Young. This earned the band favourable comparisons to Suicide and The Jesus and The Mary Chain. These comparisons were reaffirmed when Love in My Veins featured on the Psilocybin Sounds compilation ‘Open Your Mind’, alongside The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

The band have also received praise from the likes of Steve Lamacq, who selected an earlier track ‘In Your Eyes’ as his Radio 2 ‘Listeners Tip of The Week’, as well as heavy support from BBC 6 Music, including ‘Love In My Veins’, in demo form alone.

Their reputation as a fantastic live band has been greatly enhanced by recent support slots with the likes of Spectrum (featuring Sonic Boom, founder member of Spacemen 3), The Aliens and Crocodiles, as well as back-to-back appearances at Kendal Calling festival. They try and incorporate interesting visuals into their performance wherever possible to add another dimension to their live show.
