In 2007 Simon Konrad formed his solo-project "Cargo City". Singer/songwriter-music with acoustic guitar and some elctronical elements. He uploaded some songs on "Myspace" and received shortly a remarkable feedback. In the web 2.0 he also met his producer Ralf Hildenbeutel. They made an EP send them out and even big magazines pricked their ears up.
Many things happened since than. The first two singles "Ode to No One" and "When I sleep I Disappear" (2008) became great radio hits. At the end of 2008 Cargo City reached the final of the "radio award" of several big German radio stations. For the successful movie "Vincent will meer" (2010) Cargo City contributed four new songs. After an endless number of live-performances around Germany and Europe Cargo City grew together to a fixed band.
"DANCE/SLEEP" is the third album from the band from Frankfurt. It is probably the most mature album so far and the influence of the band is clearly hearable. It's rougher and sometimes even darker. Uptempo songs with drifty life-drums and deep synthie basses and emotional ballads are cleverly combined.
An all in all fully organic sounding album in mixture with analog-electronical elements.
In April/May 2011 they will be on tour to present their new album on 17 gigs.
