Two years after performing a series of concerts with the likes of Fujiya & Miyagi, Julian Casablancas and releasing their debut EP 79, Clement Froissart Max and Roger Zippel are probably about to turn the most important page of their history. Candy Clash was one of the best-kept secrets in the Paris' music scene; like treasure being traded under a cloak. They are now scheduled to appeal beyond the borders with their new name Concorde.
The arrival of a fourth member has not broken the alchemy of the former trio. Quite the contrary, the pop aesthetics, old synths and MPC are still in place, but the rhythm section is enhanced by the force of Louis Delorme. Within a few gigs, he became as essential as the maple syrup on a stack of pancakes. The sound gained depth through his rawness.
Concorde now falls - with elegance - into an ambitious dynamic, with simplicity and with a sound of modernity. With Concorde it is the french melodic know-how which flirts with the sound of Television, Talking Heads and The Feelies ... New York has never been so close!
Candy Boy : first single with a video. To materialize this new start and lock on this climatic change, nothing's better than a single with a summer feel. Like a carefree whistle, played by the dj at the end of the summer bal, that inspires a shy peck on the lips under the shiny discoball. A magnificent video illustrate this catchy hit, taking a kid on a golden Jetta, for a journey from his bedroom to the dance floor. The icing on the cake, the production of the title is signed by Blackjoy and the art direction and the visual identity has been entrusted to Akroe.
Candy Boy is the ideal launching pad for a first album, which is certainly to be an epic release in 2011.
