Biography

July 12
Composed of Jocelyn Soler on the drumkit and David Monet on the keyboards and voices, The Name tips their hat to a multitude of musical references from the electronic movement to experimentation. A unique drumkit/keyboard duo, enhanced with effects, sampled féminine pop voices and some mesmerising bells like an electronical signature coming straight out of the DFA Records catalogue. Indeed, you would have to cross the Atlantic Ocean and land on the East Coast of the United States to find the powerful and thorough striking force of Jocelyn Soler, worthy disciple of the metronomical drum player Hisham Baroosha Ota (Black Dice, Pixeltan...). In charge of the analog keyboards, David Monet surfs on cold sonorities in the Kraftwerk style, on the 70's groove, on the synthetised sound of the 80's to the Juno's exentricity so dear to the english nu disco wave of the 90's. It sums up to feverish, inhabited lives, that will have you on your knees, worthy of a clash between Black strobe, LCD Soundsystem, Zombie Zombie and Siriusmo.
