The Mary Onettes return with "Love Forever" produced by Dan Lissvik. Gone are the echoing reverbs reverbs, the 80's guitars and the big, splashing drums. Instead, the new EP is a wonder of genre-blurring fearlessness drawing on ambient textures, avant-garde rhythms and intricate arrangements. A delicately beautiful collection of songs.
Philip Ekström and Dan Lissvik met by accident and started talking about synchronicity, the laws of physics and Buddhism. Music was only discussed briefly.
In the spring of 2011 Lissvik remixes Det Vackra Livet's "Viljan". Around the same time The Mary Onettes start discussing where to go with their third album. They agree on 'genreless' and 'rhythmic' and decide to work with an outside producer for the first time. Dan Lissvik strikes them as the obvious choice.?
- He has a somewhat well deserved reputation of being difficult to work with, but the results justifies it, says The Mary Onettes' singer Philip Ekström.
