The Backs, hailing from Erding, Munich have the answer. The young, alternative band's character is made up of an array of influences. Thesefive musicians, who all started their career in 2009, not only share a passion for music, but are also the best of friends.
Maybe it is their unique contrast of sound that promotes the attraction of The Backs. The established 4/4 rock elements of their tracks are blended seamlessly with retro guitar riffs whilst the voices are smoky and the synthesizers galloping. The band also brings a crazy sense of attention to detail in their live performances always with a large dash of mischief.
It didn’t take long for Max Malterer, John Bauer, Xaver Felixberger,Bob Heinemann and Dominik Lekavski to establish themselves from gigs incellars and youth centers to concerts in the clubs of Munich. They alsohave a tour through Germany under their belt, supporting bands such as Timid Tigers, Emma 6 and Wilhelm Tell from Hamburg. One of their biggesthighlights so far was performing with The Editors and at EXIT Festival in Serbia.
Their Single 'Carolina' released in 2011 is a follow up to their debut EP 'Take Curtain Calls' released in 2010. The Band´s ethos is clear: ‘We´ll always go on where we left off. Just better!’ Although thefive artists have become a little more thoughtful recently, they do notfail to amaze their audience creating an impish atmosphere with a focuson making their fans dance.
The story of The Backs is one of suspense as they head towards critical acclaim. This leaves us waiting for the next exciting contrast in The Back's story.
