Ghost of Tom Joad is a three piece rock band based in Münster / Germany. Formed in 2006 they quickly gained attention and played as a supporting act for bands such as Maximo Park, Mando Diao and german punk icon muff potter.
Their first record "No sleep until Ostkreuz" was published February 2008. 14 sharp and energetic tracks sounding like The Police without all these 80s stuff.
After playing countless shows in 2008 they entered "Wong" Studio in Berlin to record their follow up Album "Matterhorn". Released in early 2009 "Matterhorn" is a versatile and yet powerful record that shows the bands talent for melodious and complex arrangements.
Over the last years Ghost of Tom Joad played more than 200 shows and evolved to be a tight and energetic live band.
2010 Ghost of Tom Joad went back in the studio with german Producer whizzkid Dennis Scheider. Their third Longplayer "Black Musik" was released in early 2011 via Richard Mohlmann Records/Universal
