Jarvis Cocker and Tony Christie rework a classic

Ah, the Trinity Square Shopping Centre and Multistorey Car Park in Gateshead will be sorely missed, but this might cheer up its mourners. Although it might seem an odd collection of names Jarvis Cocker and Tony Christie are to cover Roy Budd’s theme to 1971's brutal, Michael Caine Brit flick, "Get Carter", for inclusion on Tony Christie's new album on Eddie Piller’s Acid Jazz label.
Titled “Now Is the Time”, the album’s release is planned for early 2011. The track, much loved by mods and soundtrack geeks alike, will join other collaborations on the tracklisting, with reports suggesting Roisin Murphy will also be involved.
