The xx - debut album

The much anticipated debut album from electro/shoegazers, The xx, titled simply “xx”, also looks set for release on August 17, courtesy of Young Turks. The dark, 80s tinged mood of debut single “Crystalised”, which was released earlier in the year, seems to be a reliable representative of what the album will contain.
Expect Peter Hook bass lines, guitars with copious flange, chorus and echo, and song titles suggesting a wistful, loosely astronomical theme (“Basic Space Moon”, “Stars”, “Infinity”, etc), which are sure to jostle for space with The Big Pink in playlists.
