Mechanical Bride to release rarities collection
June 2008

Not to be confused with the blog site for disgruntled nerds, experimental folk band, Mechanical Bride, are to release “Part II”, a collection of material previously, only available as limited 7”, EPs or downloads. The release will be the precursor to their first full-length album, due in early 2009.

The Collection includes the stunningly treated cover version of Rhiana’s 2007 rainy season hit “Umbrella”, which is sure to end up on the soundtrack of Grey’s Anatomy in the future (if it hasn’t already).

The band are headed by 22 year old Brighton belle, Lauren Doss, whose talents came to the attention of Transgression records as a backing singer for Larakin Love. The band also gained exposure with support slots for fellow Brighton alt-folk artists, Bat for Lashes.

The collection is due for release 18 August. Until then you can listen to them on their Myspace: www.myspace.com/mechanicalbride
