Hot Japanese Girl
Biography
Hot Japanese Girl formed in late 2009 to rapturous reviews and have been garnering a reputation for engaging and invading the audience ever since. As a result, their frenetic energetic shows reflect their self-proclaimed genre of ‘New Krank’.
They combine their party attitude with plenty of hooks, shout outs, obscure pop culture references, huge riffs, dance beats and massive choruses.
After a slew of gigs and festivals throughout the UK supporting the likes of Islets, Philadelphia Grand Jury and even Matt Berry, they are currently mixing their first 8 track E.P ‘Bear Shark Laser Tiger Fight’ with independent Nottingham label ‘I'm Not From London Records’.
The Four piece from Nottingham have been depicted as anarchic, shambolic, ridiculous, frenetic and even slightly surreal. They can be seen feeding off each others bravado and whilst they all simultaneously bare massive grins, loving every single minute of it. Originally conceived as an internet only project, this quickly grew out of control with gigs being offered before a drummer had been found. Within four weeks they played their first show to a sold out packed room in Shoreditch London, a month later they were co-headliners at Nottingham’s Infamous ‘Hockley Hustle’. They're not hot, can't speak a word of Japanese and are in no way girls, try them once, you'll keep coming back!
