Dot to Dot 2011 shaped up to be the tri-city festival's finest outing yet with some of the industry's hottest new talent showcasing a wealth of new and exciting material. A real tour de force line up including Hurts, We are Scientists, The Naked And Famous, The Joy Formidable, Ed Sheeran and many more toured around Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester on May 28th, 29th and 30th belting out some of the years most hotly tipped tunes.

Dot to Dot organiser and Nottingham's chief events manager Anton Lockwood said: "This is what Dot to Dot is all about! The exciting new bands that were on the bill cemented in place our reputation for showcasing a strong line up of established acts. In previous years people like Mumford and Sons, The XX, Klaxons, Temper Trap and Foals have all played breakthrough sets at Dot to Dot. Who was your pick from this years crop of talent?"

This year displayed a real eclectic array of British and international acts including self proclaimed Scottish fight pop six piece Dananananaykroyd, alt - electro five piece Morning Parade, shimmering indie - disco merchants Trophy Wife, anthemic psychedelic indie from Fixers, Swedish goth tinged electro pop stars Niki and the Dove, new Jersey based singer songwriter Allie Moss, an electric live set from ghost - stepper Becoming Real and the psych folk stylings of Colourmusic.

Aside from the amalgamation of bands, the other stars of the show were the venues which laid host to the festival sounds. Bristol's backdrops were Anson Rooms, The Academy, Thelka, The Fleece, The Louisiana and The Cooler. Nottingham, a hub of diverse stages included Rock City, Nottingham Trent Student Union, Rescue Rooms, Stealth and The Bodega into the mix. Manchester pulled out some top arenas to include Academy 1, 2 and 3, Club Academy, The Deaf Institute and Sound Control.

With such a powerhouse line up and diverse spectrum of venues, Dot to Dot 2011 proved itself to be the best yet. With an ever-growing interest from music buffs and city revellers, the festival will only go from strength to strength. Expect 2012's event to put any other city festival to shame. Roll on next year!
