goFASTER>> formed in the summer of 2006 to write pop songs about rubbish jobs, daytime television and STDs. Having known each other already from around the Liverpool music scene, they decided to form a band with the determination to have as much fun as possible. Taking influences from the likes of Blur, Granddaddy, Talking Heads, Bis, Explosions in the sky and XTC, they make an explosive mix of epic new wave pop. Or as makenoiseanddance.com put it - “Like the Futureheads on a bouncy castle”

Within weeks of forming, their demo had been played on UK national radio by Radio 1 guru Steve Lamacq - the buzz had begun. Soon after they signed a single deal and released ‘She starts Monday’ to much critical acclaim - a tale about the celebrity obsessed culture of modern life. Within weeks the single had sold out and gained them much attention from the national press with the NME describing them as “brilliant new wave punk”. Further national airplay from Lamacq and John kennedy (XFM) continued as the band hit the road supporting The Wombats on their UK tour. Touring the UK endlessly in their second home - a white van called ‘Eggy’, they managed to notch up nearly 100 gigs in their first year of existence

Second single “Flammable Leisurewear” is expected for release in February 2008 coinciding with their first headline tour including several dates across Europe.

Imagine what Arctic Monkeys would sound like if they spent as much time on their tunes as they did their lyrics.
