The Longcut have been riding an electromagnetic wave of since wowing crowds at 2004's In The City and 2005's South By Southwest. Theirs is a show like no other – as guitarist Lee and bassist Jon stand unflinchingly at the flanks laying down groove after groove, singing drummer Stuart flits madly between mic and kit, chanting shamanistically over the beats. It's a thrilling sight.

The Longcut built their reputation on these intense gigs, rising up from the Manchester party circuit before taking their unique show further a field and winning plaudits aplenty. With their two EP releases, Transition and A Quiet Life, they proved they could capture that vitality on record. R1 Evening Session and MTV2 went wild for both, just as the crowds go wild at their gigs – the opening bars of Transition are enough to send half of the audience skyward, with shoes, glasses, beers, hearts and minds lost to the mosh pit.

After this short, sharp, shock-and-awe tour, Hurricane Longcut will set off to conquer the world, beginning in the west, with their second set of US dates, and then the east, with a second trip to Japan. A trip to Barcelona concludes this jaunt in support of a new international-only mini album containing tracks from The Longcut's two incredible EPs. As for us Brits, it's a matter of waiting (the debut album is currently being mixed) and, of course, partying – The Longcut are heading to a town near you...
